How to enable TraceMonkey in Firefox 3.1 Beta 2

TraceMonkey is used by Firefox 3.1 Beta for faster JavaScript loading.It is faster than Firefox3 37.5 times.
Steps to try TraceMonkey:
  • User must have Firefox 3.1 Beta 2 installed.
  • Open a new tab
  • type "about:config" and hit enter
  • on the warning message,click "I'll be careful,I promise!"
  • type in "jit" on the "Filter" tab.
  • At the "Value" bar,change both "false" to "true" by double click it.
  • Restart Firefox.

  • Available in 54 languages.
  • Added the new "Private Browsing Mode",same as "Incognito" in Google Chrome or "InPrivate Browsing in Internet Explorer Beta.

Downgrade Firefox 3.1 Beta

You can remove Firefox 3.1 Beta 1 through the Control Panel in the Start Menu on Windows, by removing the Firefox application on OS X, or by removing the Firefox folder on Linux.

Removing Firefox 3.1 Beta 1 won’t remove your bookmarks, web browsing history, extensions or other add-ons. This data is stored in your Profile Folder which is located in one of the following locations depending on your operating system:

  • Windows Vista:Users/AppData/Roaming/Mozilla/Firefox
  • Windows 2000,XP,Server 2003:Documents and Settings/Application Data/Mozilla/Firefox
  • Mac OS X:~/Library/Application Support/Firefox
  • Linux and Unix System:~/.mozilla/firefox
Any version of Firefox that you install after removing Firefox 3.1 Beta 1 will continue to use the data from this profile folder.

Firefox 3.1 Beta Review/New Function/Problem


Firefox 3.1 Beta is now available for download at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-beta.html

The new function in Firefox 3.1 Beta are:
  • Web standards improvements in the Gecko layout engine
  • Added support for CSS 2.1 and CSS 3 properties
  • A new tab-switching shortcut that shows previews of the tab you’re switching to
  • Improved control over the Smart Location Bar using special characters to restrict your search
  • Support for new web technologies such as the
  • 3 times faster than Firefox 3.0.
  • Added the tab tearing function as in Google Chrome.
The final version of Firefox 3.1 is expected will release at the end of 2008.

Problem/Known Issues in Firefox 3.1 Beta:
All Systems
  • Certain client certificates will fail to install when downloaded from a CA.
  • The “Feed” tab is not present in the page info window.
  • Preferences set using the page info window do not work properly.
Microsoft Windows
  • In some cases, the migration dialog will not launch after successfully installing Firefox for the first time.
Mac OS X
  • On PPC Macs, viewing a Ogg video, displayed in a
Linux and Unix
  • Long pages can render incorrectly.

How To Downgrade/Uninstall Windows Live Messenger 2009 Beta to Messenger 8.5 or Older

Microsoft have released the new Windows Live Messenger 2009 Beta few months ago.If you have installed it you felt it not suitable to you or have some bug/problem,you can downgrade it to the previous version with this way>
You cant install the previous version of Windows Live Messenger when you have installed the beta version of Windows Live Messenger in your pc.To resolve this,you have to uninstall all the Windows Live Beta program.

For Windows XP:
1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. In Category view, click Add or Remove Programs, and then click Remove a program.
3. Click Windows Live Beta (all programs), and then click Change/Remove.
4. Click Install or uninstall, and then click Continue.
5. Clear the check boxes for each program, and then click Continue.

For Windows Vista:
1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. In Category view, click Programs, click Programs and Features, and then double-click Windows Live Beta (all programs).If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
3. Click Install or uninstall, and then click Continue.
4. Clear the check boxes for each program, and then click Continue.

The Windows Live Writer is a program that user can write their blog and save it in their pc or publish it to Windows Live Space,Blogger,etc.

In the beta program,there are some new function.User can change the font colour and the type of font their used.User also can set the post publish date,categories.Not just like this,user can preview the post live as in their blog or in HTML code.

Not just like this,user can edit their image in Windows Live Writer too.User can rotate the image without installing add-on anymore.There are more image borders to choose too.

How To Downgrade IE8 to IE7 or 6 in both XP and Vista

The Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 was released at August 2008.It comes with many new functions such as InPrivate browsing function.However,there are still many problem in this beta version of this Internet Explorer.
You can downgrade your IE8 to IE7 or 6 by the following way>

For Windows XP platform,just go to add or remove program and find Internet Explorer 8 Beta then remove it.Your IE version will become your previous version that you were using before you upgrade.

For Windows Vista platform,you won't be able to find IE8 Beta at the add or remove program windows.You can go to Windows Update>View Update History>Installed Updates>find Internet Explorer 8 Beta then uninstall it.
Your IE version will become Version 7 after you uninstalled.

Note:Please update(if have) your IE after your done that(uninstall Beta) through Windows Update.Some critical updates are very important.

Minor Problem in Windows Live Messenger 2009 Beta and How To Fix It

  • If you sign in to Messenger on a computer for the first time while you’re already signed in on another computer, an incorrect display picture may be set. To fix this, click your display picture and then select the display picture you want.
  • If your display picture contains “&” in the file name, the picture won’t be available on any computers other than the computer on which you set the picture.
  • You won’t be able to sign in to Messenger on a computer where you’re logged in as an NT Guest User. You’ll receive error 810000306.
  • If you change your status to “Appear offline” and then back to “Online” after using certain online activities that involve interaction with a contact (such as PhotoShare or Webcam), you may not be able to start another online activity. To resolve this problem, sign out of Messenger, and then sign in again.
  • Live Call will be temporarily unavailable in U.S. markets. When it’s available, it will be enabled automatically.
